Being an independent artist is precarious business. The bulk of my funding comes through grants and awards—processes that are notoriously slow moving and restrictive, with little money available for overhead costs, studio supplies, or research and development. It is my hope that a mix of sales, grants, and public donations can help me continue to create and thrive as an artist.
